Have you tried SEM for Blogs yet?

Posted by Staff on March 11, 2010 - (0)

While everyone thinks that they can get better traffic results with SEO and SEM for their websites, this is just one facet where you can utilize these marketing tools. You can also use SEM for blogs. And for those who are wary about using a blog for personal or even commercial use, with SEM you can double the amount of traffic that finds your blog, therefore doubling the amount of traffic you will get to your website.

Although huge amounts of traffic do no necessarily equate to more business, at least the traffic has been pre-qualified as they have already read your blogs before visiting your website. Therefore the chances of turning a visitor into a customer are much higher!

In order to work with SEM concepts for your blog, you will first want to know what your current search engine position is for your website and for your blog (if you already have one). If you are just creating a blog, you don’t need to check the ranking of it just yet. Considering the theme of the blog you want to associate with your website, you will want to come up with a variety of keywords that not only describe the blog, but your business and any other relevant keywords that will work.

Another way to check out how SEM is working for you is to look at your competition. On the search engine page you will want to review the websites that are listed above you and on the first page of the results. This will clue you in on why they might be ranking higher than you. This could be because of the type of blog they have, the page names, and the SEO content of their blog.

To improve your own rankings, you will want to offer SEO articles and better content for your readers. You can do this yourself, or you can spend a little money and hire an SEO writer to do it for you. But learning how SEO works for getting more traffic is a key element in making your blog and your business a success.

You could also submit your own articles to article websites like this one which you can use to generate interest in your businesses products or services. Make sure that you run a link to your blog site, in the author signature, as well as to your main business site if indeed you have one.

Website Link Popularity: One Link Is One Contact, Thousand Links Are Thousand Contacts

Posted by Staff on March 11, 2010 - (0)

Why do I write about website link popularity, SEO, link popularity tools and things like that? Well, because I checked my visitor stats this morning and what a …!

Most of the targeted traffic came through a software, which I used some time ago. This woke me up and I started to look my internet business from the angle of links. What the links really mean?

My answer was very simple: website link popularity means that the site has contacts, i.e. business contacts with other sites in the internet business.

I have marketed my internet business over 3 years using majorily long term strategies, like SEO by optimized articles, optimized blog posts, writing new pages to my site and participating forums.

Most of these actions have the same target: to bring more targeted traffic to my site, rather repeatedly. And even further: by link building to increase my site`s link popularity.

I underline this: my website link popularity is EXTREMELY important. It does not matter what do I think: search engine ranking, the amount of site visitors, residual traffic, targeted traffic or what.

So I wrote this article about my experiences, because I was so happy with the results.

1.The Useful, Original, Personal and Fresh Site Content.

A quality content is the best link popularity tool. Some affiliate marketers say that it works so slowly, but I do not agree. A good content works immediately. Okay, in case that your site has zero visitors, it doesn`t, but that is quite exceptional.

The power of quality content in link popularity comes from the fact that happy visitrs come again and recommend the site to many others.

2.Link Building By Website Directories.

You can do this manually or by a software. However I highly recommend that you use some link popularity tool, a software which does the submission.

These links work in the short- and long term: once done, they do the work for you.

3.Reciprocal Link Building.

There are lots of information that reciprocal links or link exchange doesn`t work effectively. I think this means majorily the search engine ranking, because reciprocal links bring huge traffic. I see it every day from my stats.

4.Link Popularity With The Article Directories.

Internet marketing is a numbers game, ie. We need lots of visitors to become successful. That is also the target of every link building campaign.

By writing optimized articles it is possible to increase website link popularity, especially if these articles are submitted to directories with an effective submission service, which will distribute them widely all over the Net.

5.Internet Marketing Forums And Bookmarking.

Forums bring targeted traffic, but the participation requires lots of regular posts. We can always ask the reader to bookmark our article or page, which will mean that later he will visit our page again.

I see these tactics as additional ways, because the volume of links will in all cases be low.

In the end of the day, the site content is the most effective way to increase website link popularity and build a solid traffic.

Blogs are online journals where people express themselves through writing. Writing is the process by which one puts the words of a language on a format that others can read. Writing has only been a day in the year that humanity has existed. Talking and thinking are much easier than writing. These processes just out naturally like a river of consciousness, just sometimes, we have to do.

SMO- Basic Tenets Of Social Media Optimization

Posted by Staff on March 10, 2010 - (0)

While SEO and SEM represent the most popular avenues toward reaching a targeted audience, social media optimization (SMO) is gaining momentum. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and similar properties that form the springboard for communities of like-minded consumers have reached a tipping point. Once a novelty, they have quickly dominated popular media. In the process, they have become the focus of social media optimization.

One of the reasons social media optimization has gained significant traction with companies is because it provides a unique marketing channel. Rather than depending solely upon traffic generated from specific search queries on Google and Yahoo!, a site can be positioned to enjoy a grassroots – and often, viral – marketing momentum. But, this strategy is not without challenges. To that end, here are the four basic tenets for a savvy social media optimization (SMO) campaign.

Tenet #1: Encourage Community Links

Consumers are starved for compelling content. Blog posts, videos, white papers, and news feeds that inform or entertain (ideally both) are perfectly positioned to attract attention. Once such content is discovered, entire communities descend upon it and spread the word. As a result, a company’s exposure and link profile can expand rapidly. Community links are one of the underpinnings of an effective social media optimization campaign. As the members of a community spread the word, inbound links grow. And with it comes a growth in organic traffic.

Tenet #2: Leverage Tags And Bookmarks

When sharing content with others in their community, people will always gravitate toward the path of least resistance. In the context of social media optimization (SMO), leveraging tags and bookmarks from popular social networking sites is critical. There is no shortage of plugins and scripts that allow your audience to share your content with a single click. Whether “tweeting” to their thousands of Twitter followers or seeding your content on YouTube, Flickr, or Facebook, these tags and bookmarks can help trigger a groundswell of exposure.

Tenet #3: Identify The Best Opportunities

Not every social networking site offers the same potential for a social media optimization project. Some sites cater to a younger audience. Other sites cater to a professional audience. The key is to properly isolate the target community given a company’s product line. For example, a financial services company geared toward high net worth individuals would find limited success on MySpace. On the other hand, a social media optimization (SMO) campaign that targeted professional communities on LinkedIn might be more appropriate.

Tenet #4: Integrate Social Media Optimization

The advantages of a social media optimization project, while significant, often distract companies from leveraging SEO, SEM, and ORM. It’s important to realize that effective online promotion is a confluence of all strategies. Not only does each use a different route to increase a company’s exposure, traffic, and sales, but all blend seamlessly with one another. In effect, social media optimization (SMO) should be integrated as one of several best practices.

The basic tenets that we’ve provided above do not comprise an exhaustive list. Indeed, they merely form the foundation of a social media optimization project. When carefully crafted, SMO can be used to gain access to communities that would otherwise lie beyond the reach of traditional marketing strategies.

Outsourcing SEO Vs Gambling With in House SEO

Posted by Staff on March 10, 2010 - (0)

So your company has decided to embark on an online campaign to boost sales. With so much marketing clatter filling up the Internet these days, you decide to hire someone who can bring your business to the forefront from search engine wrangling, the services of an SEO expert. At this point, you will surely be faced with a dilemma, whether to outsource your SEO needs or establish a new segment within your company, or to go for an in-house SEO department. Such problem has been argued over and addressed by many experts either in the more ideal academic perspective or pragmatic business-management approach, each espousing outsourcing SEO needs is the better choice or otherwise. All technical arguments aside, experience has proved that outsourcing your SEO needs with a proven expert is the better choice.

Despite what almost everyone says, not just anyone can be an SEO expert. It is core competency and requires certain talent and skill, namely creativity, analysis, knowledge of the target market, to name a few. Granted, talent is innate; this does not mean someone whom you hire who has that as the in-house SEO ‘expert’ can produce the increased revenue your company desires. The above-mentioned skills are required and those can only be developed over time. If your company is embarking on that online campaign with the expectation of immediate results, you definitely do not have the time to wait for that newly hired talent to blossom into the SEO expert you require. SEO firms, however, already have within their arsenal people who can be rightfully called SEO experts. These are people have both the talent and experience required by firms that rely on SEO to suit their business needs. Firms which offer SEO services to companies seeking to outsource their needs have made it their business to develop the people who possess the right skill set so that they may deliver definite results.

Most companies fail to comprehend the dent to their finances which could be caused by the establishment of an In House SEO. This is most unfortunate since most companies establish in house SEO segments precisely as a cost-cutting measure. The cost of hiring the services of a seasoned SEO firm could be ten times more than the cost of hiring a newbie as an in house SEO employee. It bears stressing, however, that quality SEO services can be done in a “one-time-big-time” fashion. SEO expert comes in, does his work, and you have a site which ranks top in all search engines. Choosing the right SEO firm is, of course, an integral choice for your company so that you can be assured of the quality of the work. This is in stark contrast to hiring in house SEO employees, you have to spend time and money for training and not be assured of the quality of his work. It has already been stressed that not everyone can be an SEO expert. In any case, the costs of establishing an in house SEO segment are heavier for the company in the long run.

It is likewise prudent for companies to withhold disbelief when they choose to outsource their SEO needs. SEO is not some kind of magical pill which suddenly increases online revenues to 200%. Advocates for in-house SEO services attribute this to the fact outsourced services lack the personal understanding of both the company and its product hence the lack of stellar results. However, it is necessary to remember how SEO are supposed to help companies. What SEO does is to put your company ahead of rivals if a potential customer searches for your product, it does not make him click the ‘buy’ button on your site. If after hiring the services of an SEO, the volume of online sales do not pick up, evaluate your product and site as a whole before you blame the poor SEO service provider. See if your site’s content is user and reader friendly and if your product is something a customer would actually want.

There are so many things proponents of in house SEO services can say to you, but in the end, you only need to ask yourself this “Does my company need to have specialized in SEO services?” Chances are your answer is in the negative. You’re selling products, not SEO services. Moreover, having an in house SEO employee is not necessary as the work could be done in a one-time fashion and you’re not really assured of the quality of his work, unless you pirate an experienced SEO expert as a permanent employee which would then lead back to the argument that SEO work is primarily a one-time thing. Really, the better choice is to outsource your SEO needs, unless of course, you actually want to become an SEO firm.
